Engagement Story and Photos
Ivan planned the perfect weekend... on Friday night: renting a convertible, enjoying dinner at an exclusive restaurant in LA, and catching a musical at the Ahmundsen Theater; then on Saturday: driving to the beach in the convertible, visiting the Santa Barbara Zoo, watching the sunset on the beach, and getting engaged at a restaurant on the pier after being serenaded by the saxophone. But what do they say about the best laid plans of mice and men...? The rental car company left Ivan hanging, so we instead had a rushed dinner at Subway and still enjoyed the musical. On Saturday we were finally able to pick up the rental car and we had a wonderful day. However, the beach in northern Ventura is not exactly a westerly facing beach (who knew?) so instead of the expected lovely sunset at the horizon across the water, it set behind some buildings. Dinner was lovely and was finished off with a live saxophone performance of an original composition just for us. It was very romantic. Ivan proposed and the rest is history!
